George Stinney

Wrongfully Convicted and Executed

Quite possibly the most well known case of child execution, George Junius Stinney Jn was born on 21st October 1929 in Pinewood, South Carolina.

In March 1944, George was charged with the murder and rape of two young girls, and subjected to unfair trial.

George was sentenced to death by electrocution, and on June 16th 1944, was lead to the electric chair. His small frame at just 14 years old had to be supported by sitting upon a bible. He politely declined any last words, and witnesses have recorded tears streaming up to the very end. George was pronounced dead at 7:30am

In 2014, his case was heard by US courts and was subsequently posthumously quashed. The court heard evidence that proved George's innocence and that he was failed by a vast number of professionals and bodies, including his own attorney.

Our CEO has now written to the British Home Secretary in view of a posthumous free pardon for Alice also. George was declared unlawfully executed in 2014, and it is our aim that we can achieve the same outcome for Alice also.
