Today, our Chief Executive wrote to the Home Secretary to formally request a free pardon of Alice Glaston. We believe that her execution was wrong. As of today, Alice remains historically a criminal in law. We are now campaigning to have that changed.
In December, we formally issued the Home Office with a Post-Humourous Declaration of Innocence application. Evidence now clearly points to witchcraft being the most likely explanation for Alice's arrest and execution, meaning it is now extremely likely that she was innocent of any crime, even for the time.
We believe that Alice's case is unique, and deserves government recognition.
